Despite not being able to speak, the dog mother seemed to understand everything. She quickly became the mother of all the stray puppies in our neighborhood. She took them in and helped them find their own mothers again.
As her own babies grew, they were adopted one by one. But there was always a steady stream of other abandoned puppies joining us. The dog mother took them all in, with an understanding and loving heart.
However, as time went by, it became clear that there were too many dogs at our rescue base. I worried that the mother dog would be bullied by the other dogs. So, I began searching for a new home for her.
Eventually, I found a perfect adopter for her. The adopter had adopted a dog from us before and had a baby of hers at home. I reluctantly said goodbye to the dog mother, but knew it was for the best.
The adopter arrived and we reunited the dog mother with her baby. It was a beautiful moment, and I put a video of their reunion on our rescue’s website.
Though I miss her dearly, I know that the dog mother is now in a good home where she can continue to care for her little ones. Her love and understanding heart will always be remembered.
