The beast was seen lurking by the family’s bird feeder. A pest control expert described the episode as ‘definitely a warning to anyone who feeds wild birds in their yard’

Pest control experts had to come in and remove the snake

A horrified family watched a two-metre python devour a bird perched on their clothesline.

They called in pest control experts after watching the beast scoff down its prey in Queensland, Australia.

Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers snared the reptile as it hung on the outdoor during rack.

The snake had been lured to the spot by the family’s bird feeder – positioned directly above the clothesline.

Stuart issued a warning to other homeowners to be careful feeding birds as snakes “clue on to it”.

He said: “This is definitely a warning to anyone who feeds wild birds in their yard.

The python was spotted in Buderim, Queensland

“Please be aware that you may also cause snakes to come in after the birds and also encourage rats because of all the leftover seed.

“This Carpet Python was hanging out on the family’s clothes line which acted as a bird feeder.

“It was only a matter of time until it got himself a nice feed of bird! This happened at a home today.”
