Doldol is truly a pint-sized wonder. She holds the title of being the tiniest baby elephant ever to be taken in by the loving team at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT). Even though she may be small in size, Doldol’s charming character and unwavering perseverance shine through.
Doldol, a young elephant, was discovered and rescued in northern Kenya by the team at SWT. Sadly, it is suspected that her mother passed away either from natural causes or as a result of poaching. When she was brought to the Nairobi Nursery, Doldol was just a tiny calf, weighing approximately 50 kg and only a few weeks old.
Ever since that time, Doldol has been looked after by a committed group of caretakers who take care of her needs 24/7. They make sure she is fed with a bottle every three hours, gets enough exercise, and interacts with other orphaned elephants for socialization.
Thanks to the dedication of the SWT team, Doldol has overcome her difficult beginnings and is now a lively and mischievous elephant who loves to play. She keeps her caretakers on their toes with her playful behavior
Doldol has been able to make an incredible recovery, all thanks to the support of people worldwide who have generously adopted her and helped with her care.
