A family was shocked when two sisters fell pregnant with identical twins at exactly the same time.
Megan O’Brien, 29, gave birth to Lilah and Josie on November 21 last year and sister Sara Seyler, 32, had Lennon and Parker just three months later in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in the US.
On top of the ‘complete coincidence’ of being pregnant at the same time, both siblings ended up having twins.
Sara said she was initially nervous to tell Megan she was pregnant, as Sara had already had a child and she did not want to ‘steal the thunder’ from Megan having her first.
But the sisters loved going through pregnancy together, as they were able to bounce things off each other and ‘always have someone to relate to’.
Megan, whose husband is a triplet, discovered she was having twins first and her ‘jaw dropped’ when she found out Sara was pregnant with the same.
Megan was at a friend’s bachelorette party on the day her sister got the news – during her first ultrasound.

The younger sister said: ‘I answered the FaceTime and Sara was crying and I thought “oh my god, what’s wrong”?
‘Then, she held up the ultrasound picture and there were two babies. I got tears in my eyes, it was so cool that she was having twins too.’
The siblings said it has been easy to get used to the new arrivals as they come from a large family already and find chaos ‘pretty normal’.
But they agree it has still been an ‘adjustment’ for both of them.
Sara, who has gone from one child to three, said: ‘There’s a lot of days where it is very difficult. I’m a stay-at-home mom right now.
‘So having all three of them some days is a lot. But lots of fun. More positives than negatives, that’s for sure.’
Megan said: ‘Obviously, I don’t have a toddler in the mix so it’s a little easier for me.
‘It’s been great, I mean, we’re super blessed as crazy and wild chaotic it is at times.
‘To be a first-time mum of identical twin girls and to share it with my sister, it’s the coolest thing ever.’
The odds of a woman having identical twins is roughly 250 to one.
However, a woman whose female sibling has had identical twins becomes twice as likely to do the same.
