Abandoned and left in a cardboard box in a state of extreme exhaustion, the dog seemed to have no hope of a brighter future. But thanks to the relentless efforts of the Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary rescue team, Judy’s story takes a turn for the better, demonstrating the power of love and dedication.
Upon spotting Judy, the rescue team acted quickly and took her in for immediate treatment. Jody’s rescuer had been feeding her for some time before she disappeared, only to reappear in tatters. Bring her to the shelter and commit to adopting her as soon as she recovers.
With so many health issues, Jodi’s road to recovery was far from easy. Initial blood tests revealed a low red blood cell count and a high infection level, although fortunately her liver and kidneys were in good condition. She was put on IV fluids, iron supplements, and antibiotics to fight her infections.
Five days into her treatment, Judy began showing the first positive signs of recovery. She remained on IV fluids and antibiotics while she rested comfortably.
After two weeks, Judy’s skin had healed and her hair had begun to grow back. Although she still had difficulty walking, daily physiotherapy sessions were helping her regain strength.
Twenty-four days after her rescue, Judy has almost fully recovered. Her skin cleared, and she was receiving treatment for her injured leg. It was gratifying to see Judy transform from a weak, suffering dog into a happy, carefree soul.
Two months after her rescue, Judy was a completely different dog. She is now healthy, strong and ready for adoption.
This miraculous transformation is a testament to the Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary team’s unwavering dedication and care.
