A heartfelt appeal for help was brought to our attention, detailing the sad story of a dog that was abandoned on the roadside with injuries. Without hesitation, we embarked on a 50-kilometer journey to see how we could help. However, upon arriving at the scene, we were shocked to discover that the situation was more dire than we had anticipated. It was evident that some heartless people were intentionally harming helpless animals without any concern for their well-being.
We found ourselves in a state of confusion and helplessness as the reverberating sounds of gunfire and distressed barks of dogs filled the air.
Although there hadn’t been any recent conflict, it was disheartening to witness the brutality and aggression. The injured canine, whom we lovingly called RAFIKI, tugged at our heartstrings, but we were also worried about their well-being.
We quickly brought him to the closest animal hospital, and it was clear that his wounds were significant. After viewing a troubling video, it became apparent that he had been cruelly shot, which could have resulted in his death. However, fortune favored him, and he was able to defy the odds and make a full recovery.
Once we had made sure that RAFIKI was comfortably settled into a pension, our attention turned to finding the perfect forever home for him. It was a relief to know that he was now safe from the dangers of the streets and those cruel humans who had threatened his life. RAFIKI was lucky enough to be given a second chance at life and a new beginning, despite the hunters’ failed attempts to harm him.
After a month, we got some exciting news that made us extremely happy. Our beloved friend RAFIKI has finally found a forever home in England. Despite being rejected in his home country, he persisted and overcame all the challenges to finally find a place where he is appreciated for who he is. We’ll definitely miss him, but we’re thrilled that he’s found his happiness and a new family.
Those who showed empathy towards him and acknowledged his value played an important part in helping him heal from his previous experiences and conquer his fear of social situations.
