Nature is great.
Grizzly bears are one of the most notorious predators in North America, known for their massive size, powerful bite and their ability to rule the wild.
Males average up to 600 pounds and standing up to 7 feet tall when on their hind legs. Females are smaller, weighing up to 400 pounds and standing about 5 feet tall when on their hind legs.
Grizzly bears are omnivores, and their diet consists of both plant and animal matter. They primarily feed on berries, nuts, roots, and other vegetation, but they are also known to hunt for fish, small mammals, and even larger prey, such as bison.
Incredibly strong, their strength is a result of their massive muscles and bone structure. Their powerful jaws can crush bones and their sharp claws can easily tear through flesh. They are capable of running up to 30 miles per hour and can swim long distances. In addition to their physical strength, grizzly bears also have an incredible sense of smell, which they use to locate food and potential threats from quite a distance.
Bison are massive animals that can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and stand up to 6 feet tall at the shoulder. Despite their size, grizzly bears have the strength and determination to take down a bison. They will usually target young or weakened bison, but they are also known to attack healthy adult bison, particularly during the spring when the bears are coming out of hibernation and are in search of food.
This grizzly isn’t seen hunting, but scavenging as he tears into a bison that he found. The video shows the grizzly hoping right into an icy water hole as he digs for something. He comes up and pulls out a bison carcass with ease.
